The Minister of Education of Tuvalu, Hon. Falesa Pitoi, visited National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) on December 16, 2009. He was invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an official visit to Taiwan.
Welcomed by NDHU President, Professor Wen-Shu Hwang, Hon. Falesa Pitoi was briefed about the development of the University. As Tuvalu is in Polynesia of the Pacific Islands, he has a genuine interest in indigenous culture. He spent time in understanding the courses and touring the classes of the College of Indigenous Studies. He also expressed his wish of having Tuvaluan students to study in NDHU.
