To promote intercultural communication, Dept. of Curriculum Design & Human Potentials Development as well as Center for Teaching Excellence jointly held “International Workshop for Students Practicum in Singapore”. Participants included 13 selected preservice teacher education students, 5 overseas practicum students from Taiwan Hospitality & Tourism College, and 18 international students of Dong Hwa University. The workshop is under the project of Ministry of Education and organized by Dr. Wei-Yu Liu and Dr. Cheng-Hsiung Lu. With the 1:1 ratio of Taiwanese and international student, the workshop introduced cultures of various countries, demonstrated bamboo dancing, explained rules of drawing lot and tossing moon-shaped blocks in the temple, sang folklore songs, and practiced Taiwanese extravaganza cultural activities. Through such designed international scenarios, the prospective outbound students may learn exotic foreign cultures and construct their ways of introducing Taiwanese cultures as well, so that they can acquire a fulfilling mission of disseminating Taiwanese cultures and educational practicum in their trip to Singapore.
