National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) students of the Department of Electrical Engineering won champion in the College and Above Group at the 2011 i-ONE International Instrument Innovation Competition.
The project entitled “The Development of Early Atherosclerosis Assessment System” was the champion of the 2011 competition. Led by Professor Hsien-Tsai Wu, the winning team members are Cyuan-Cin Liu, Jui-Ting Hsu, Hong-Ruei Chen, and Chun-Ho Lee. The non-invasive assessment system developed aims at providing early diagnosis of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular disorders economically for clinic and home use.
Another team also led by Professor Hsien-Tsai Wu with members Po-Chun Hsu, Cyuan-Cin Liu, Hou-Jun Wang, and Ching-Shuen Chen on “Novel Application of Six-channel Electrocardiogram-based Pulse Wave Velocity in Assessing Whole-body Peripheral Arterial Stiffness” received honorable mention award.
The i-ONE International Instrument Innovation Competition is organized by the Instrument Research Center of the National Applied Research Laboratories. It aims at promoting research and development of instrument technology and encouraging creativity in scientific research. The 2011 i-ONE competition attracted 22 teams to participate in the College and Above Group.
