National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) student, Ya-Xin Hwang, won the first prize in The Beauty of Taiwan, a competition by the Eagle Club in the United States.

Ms Hwang, a junior of the Department of English, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, contested with an essay titled Composing Taiwan’s Future with Affection in Essay Senior group. Along with five other winners, she will be awarded a 12-day trip to the west coast of the United States in August.

Organized by the Eagle Club, the competition themed The Future of Taiwan, to be Decided by Me! was classified into essay, cartoon, and video groups, each with senior and junior levels. The competition attracted about 200 Taiwan students from Australia, the United States and Taiwan.
