The Annual General Meeting of World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium was successfully ended on 2^nd August. During the consortium, WINHEC Circle of Honours were awarded to those who have been dedicated to education in the banquet night in Farglory Hotel.

Committee member received the circle-of-honor award of Elders of Indigenous Wisdom on behalf of Obing Nawi from Alang tongan Community of Seediq Peoples

The nominees as well as the award recipients are respectively Obing Nawi from Alang tongan Community of Seediq Peoples, Teymu Losi from Toda Community of Seediq Peoples, and Alawyan Pakawyan from Sakuban Community of Puyuma Peoples. They were awarded ELDERS OF INDIGENOUS WISDOM for recognizing them for their endeavor and dedication for passing on and preserving indigenous knowledges and cultures. Obing Nawi has been dedicated to passing on traditional weaving of Seediq Peopls. Teymu Losi spends his lifetime teaching the younger generation how to hunt, the knowledges of forests, and traditional cultures. Akawyan Pakawyan, as an indigenous language teacher, has been dedicated to preserving and passing on the Puyuma culture, traditional art skills, and singing and dancing. Her endeavor is important especially in this year of International Year of Indigenous Languages.

Though Teymu Losi could not be present in the award ceremony, his message was passed on by the attendees of his people. The content of his message included the importance of passing on the cultures from generation to generation, the abundant exchanges of knowledges and wisdoms from the interaction between International and Taiwanese Indigenous cultures.

Committee members from The Seediq Education Committee also attended the whole process of award ceremony in order to accept the award for the absent winner. Uya Pawan, one of the committee members said that the wisdom of award winners cannot be replaced by the knowledge system in modern era; therefore, it's important for everyone to recognize their endeavor and the values of passing on indigenous cultures along the way of self-determination education. In order to emphasize the importance of this award which brings people's attention to preservation of traditional culture, the trophies and certificates of The Elders of Indigenous Wisdom of two Seediq award-recipients will also be presented and awarded again in front of their peoples during their upcoming National Council Meeting.
